Health Insurance for Foreign Students in Czech Republic
Student Health Insurance of the Complex Care type offers coverage for normal non-urgent visits to the hospital, doctor or dentist, and refunds costs for perscribed medicines and dental procedures to a certain extent (usually 5000 CZK).
Student Health Insurance of the Emergency type only offers limited liability and acute care, which is the reasons we do not offer this type at all anymore, since it covers nothing.
Student Health Insurance is meant for students at an accredited institute, and some insurance companies require a proof from the educational institute. An exception is Maxima. Maxima does not require proof of study, and has only an age limitation. In case you do not fulfill the requirements for a Student Health Insurance, then take a regular Complex Care Health Insurance.

Student Health Insurance vs regular Complex Care Health Insurance
Student Health Insurance is a bit of a mis-nomer, since it tries to suggest it is something especially for Students. In reality it has no benefits over a regular Complex-Care Health Insurance. There are no bonusses of any kind, and paradoxly, Student Health Insurance may be more expensive than regular Complex Care Health Insurance because of the Complex Care pricedumping / special offers!
Also, in some cases, without the proof of you being a Student, the Health Insurance is not valid, and, once you stop being a Student, technically your Student Health Insurance is not valid anymore.
